Synopsis

It's a fresh teaming of Vijay with Meera Jasmine and Ameesha Patel in the film 'Geethai' produced by V Sundar for Vishal Films, and the film is directed by debutant Jagan who had apprenticed with director Cheran. The supporting cast has Kalabhavan Mani, Nasser, Nedumudi Venu, Karunas, Ilavarasu, Shweta, Kalairani, Sharat Babu and director K S Ravikumar.

'Geethai', an action-oriented love story, has Vijay playing Sarathy an MBA student who does odd jobs to pay for his education. The prediction that Sarathy would become rich and famous, but will not live beyond his 27th birthday, creates much anxiety in the family. Sarathy quotes the Bhagvad Geetha and is philosophically minded, hence the title, says director Jagan. Much is being made about Vijay sporting a sixth finger for the role, which will twitch and alert the hero of things to come. Meera Jasmine plays a Tamilian, while Ameesha plays a Kerala lass.

The film's music is by Yuvan Shanker Raja, editing by V T Vijayan and stunt choreography by Peter Hayan. Vijay has not had many successes in recent times. Hoepfully, 'Geethai', ready to hit the theatres shortly, might well prove a box-office success.
